Welcome to the Phoenix Workgroup Computing web site and customer portal

Welcome to the Phoenix Workgroup Computing web site and customer portal.  We built this site (and had a great time in the process, by the way) to help our consultants and customers store and share information, documentation and files for projects in progress.

We are located in East Lansing, Michigan, USA home the Michigan State University Spartans.  In fact, on a clear fall afternoon we can hear the cheers from the stadium on those rare occasions when we're not at the game. And when the Spartans have an Air Force flyover, like on Veterans' Day, those jets fly right over our office, which is both exciting and also a rigorous test of our vibration-damped disk farm.

We invite you to explore the site, take advantage of the free utilities and downloads, and share your challenges and successes with us and the others who use this site. In the immortal words of Red Green (well-known Canadian TV star), "We're pullin' for you - we're all in this together."

Collaboration

How do you coordinate the efforts of widely distributed development teams, each member of which may have a different piece of a large puzzle to complete? We use collabrative software to help keep things in sync, and to save us a fortune in airfare and long-distance bills.

Some of the materials in this web portal are OPEN. That means anyone who is registered on the site can download and use them.  Many of these items are utilities of various kinds that we have built for our customers over the years. Think of them as can openers: we could have used chisels or tin snips or dynamite, but we were looking for a more efficient and less dangerous way to accomplish the same task.

Some of these materials are considered confidential and are specific to a single customer.  Those items will be visible only to persons associated with the customer; other registered users will not be able to see or download them. In other words, we put the open software in the lobby; the confidential software goes in the vault.

Support

We provide direct on-line support services to our customers. This allows us to "Look over their shoulders" and provide assistance just as if the consultant were standing there. Sadly, not all of our on-line support staff look like the girl in the picture

We also provide web conferencing for our customers to help us deisgn systems and resolve issues quicker and save a few bucks on gas.  Click on the ICON below to join the Phoenix Workgroup web conference.

When you start the web conference you will be asked to enter a (Display Name) please a name you want to be known as for the meet.

You will need to have the most current version of Adobe's Flash Player installed to use this conferencing system.  The conferencing service will check your configuration and give you a link to install Flash Player if it is not on your system.
